Travel to Granada
There are two main ways to reach Granada: flying directly into the local airport, or flying to Málaga and travelling on from there.
Flying directly to Granada
If you are able to fly directly, the simplest option is to arrive at Granada-Jaén Airport (GRX). From there, Granada city centre is an easy journey by airport bus or taxi. The airport bus takes around 45–60 minutes and stops at several points in the city, while a taxi usually takes about 25–30 minutes.
Via Málaga Airport
If a direct flight to Granada is not available, an excellent alternative is to fly to Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) and continue on to Granada. From Málaga you can:
- Take a Bus from Málaga Airport to Granada: direct coaches run from Málaga Airport to Granada Bus Station. The journey typically takes around 2–2½ hours, with one-way fares usually starting from about €10–€15 per person. It is advisable to check current timetables and book in advance.
You can find more information and book tickets here: Málaga Airport → Granada Bus
- Car hire: hiring a car at Málaga Airport is straightforward. The drive to Granada takes around 1 hour 30 minutes, mostly on motorway. On arrival, limited free on-street parking is available in some areas, but a paid car park close to your accomodation is often the most convenient option.
- Train via Málaga city: you can also take a train from Málaga-María Zambrano station to Granada. Note this requires a short bus, taxi or local train ride from the airport into Málaga city first. Then, the train journey itself takes roughly 1 hour 30 minutes, with several services a day. More information and tickets can be found here: Málaga → Granada Train
For all options, we recommend checking up-to-date timetables and prices before you travel, as schedules can change throughout the year.
We very much look forward to welcoming you to Granada.
